Elen Øyen is a Norwegian dance artist who works as a producer and dance artist for DansiT choreographic center. She is a dancer in Danselaboratoriet, which she has been since 2005. Elen was born with spina bifida, and uses a wheelchair. She dances in her wheelchair and on the floor. Her main focus is improvisation. Elen has a close collaboration with professor at NTNU and founder of Danselaboratoriet Tone Pernille Østern. She has lectured at conferences, seminars and festivals in Norway and abroad. She has developed broad experience in dance, and worked on the research project "Available artistry?" from autumn 2021 to spring 2023.

Wednesday 21.08.24: Wheelchair - A creative tool in dance
A wheelchair is often a symbol of something sad. Are you curious about the possibilities a wheelchair offers? Then this is the workshop for you!
Elen shows her performance where she talks about her wheelchair. Then she shows an improv in which she uses the wheelchair creatively. Participants get the opportunity to try out the wheelchair and explore the parts on it. Each participant shows a small improvisation with the wheelchair, or one or more parts of it.
Wednesday 28.08.24: S(t)olo
What possibilities and limitations does a chair have? What different characteristics do different chairs have? If you like improvisation, this is the workshop for you!
Elen shows her own s(t)olo from "Stol på meg". Each participant uses their own chair, and creates a small sequence with it. Then all participants show their s(t)olo to everyone at the end.
Wednesday 04.09.24: Dance to text - Text to dance
Elen talks about her experience with writing and dancing on social media. What comes first, the lyrics or the dance? What opportunities does dance offer on social media? What limitations?
The participants create their own lyrics and dance to them. Or: dancing after an idea or impulse, and writing the lyrics afterwards. Free choice. They then show the dance to everyone.

Juggling and movement research
Welcome to fun juggling classes where we explore dance with objects. This is an excellent arena for developing your sense of coordination and playfulness with objects. There are no limits to what juggling can be, so here you can bring your own movements and create your own repertoire. No prior knowledge is required to participate.
BIO:
Julian Sæther started juggling self-taught at the age of 7 and has now been throwing, catching, and manipulating objects for more than 20 years. He got into circus through the culture school in Trondheim and went on to get a BA in Circus and Theatre Arts from the prestigious university L'Académie Fratellini in the outskirts of Paris. Now he is looking for new ways of using the art of juggling to express the humanity within, often looking to other art forms like dance, theatre, and music to get inspired and approach the stage from new angles.

Kropp i møte med objekt
In these three classes, I want to work on the relationship between the stage actors' body and
materials/figures/objects.
We will look for, and become aware of, how objects and figures can influence the actor/dancer
movements. How can an object be in dialogue with a character?
We will examine how every physical material/object has its own energy and
possibility of movement. How can the object live its own life? How do we become more conscious of the use
of props? What is the difference between animation and manipulation?
There will be both individual work and group work.

Taijiquan - Supreme ultimate fist/way
En kinesisk kampkunst for god helse og indre fred
Denne workshoppen vil undervises av Frode Strand Karlsen, hovedinstruktør ved Trondheim Taiji Senter. Han har 16 års erfaring med kampkunsten Taijiquan. Gjennom praksisen Taijiquan jobber vi med balanse, koordinasjon og tilstedeværelse via en bevegelsesform som tar ca 10 min å gjennomføre. Der hver bevegelse flyter over i hverandre. Taijiquan er en form for meditasjon i bevegelse og den gir rom for å se innover og finne vår indre fred. Erfaringsmessig ser vi at Taijiquan har overføringsverdi til mange ulike bevegelsesformer. Vi hadde blant annet en workshop for dansere i Australia, der det å bare få lov å slippe ut magen var en stor glede for mange.

“My personal praxis is centered around always meeting the body and self where it is at in any given day, understanding the needs and working from there with what is, embodying patience and seeing possibilities rather than limitations.”
In the workshops we will explore some easygoing breath and bodyweight principles to restore neutrality in the body. We will do some basic pole training and introduction to pole, as well as choreography with the pole. There might be room for some creative work and maybe we will try on some pole dance heels as well.
Additional info: for choreography and floor work tights are great, but for trying moves on the pole itself, sitting/climbing etc. please bring shorts. No body lotion, hand cream, hair oil or similar on the same day as pole training, it will ruin the grip.

AcroYoga
In these Praxis classes we will learn the basic movements of AcroYoga for all three roles of flyer, base and spotter and we will experience how quickly we can learn fun and impressive tricks in a safe way.
AcroYoga is a movement style that was developed about 2003 partly by Eugene Poku and Jessica Goldberg (AcroYoga Montreal), partly by Jason Nemer and Jenny Sauer-Klein (AcroYoga International) that merges acrobatics with yoga and also incorporates dance, circus moves, calisthenics and cheerleading. Most of the asanas, transitions, washing machines and tricks are performed in a group of three with the roles of base, flyer and spotter. The flyer fly on the base and the spotter provide safety measures and other support. A system has been made so that this way of playing is accessible for everyone and at the same time a large number of schools has been developed, focusing on various aspects.

Bjørn Hagen started his intensive yoga journey in 2019 with ashtanga, pilates, ballet and other yoga stiles and has taken a 200h yoga teacher training at Zenit in Trondheim, a 200h AcroYoga teacher training with Poku and Goldberg in Montral and a 100h AcroYoga teacher training with Acro Way in Sweden. He has been teaching AcroYoga at Zenit and Trondheim Pole Studio and at various workshops and festivals and has a goal of building a strong AcroYoga community in Trondheim as well as building his own skills in a range of movement styles.

Educated as a physiotherapist and physiologist he is the founder of Kinesthetic Skills - physical therapy, workshops and classes focusing on movement awareness, mobility and performance improvements. He collaborated with a variety of sports clubs, and institutions in Norway and abroad. His workshops are open to anyone, often attended by athletes, performers, yogis, martial artists, and dancers. His source of inspiration/praxis ranges from olympic weightlifting, aikido, and yoga to contact improvisation.

En stor del av praksisen min handler om å skape plass og gjøre kroppen klar til å være kreativ på en bæredyktig måte. Jeg liker å tenke at forskjellige kvaliteter og energier eksisterer hele tiden, at det bare handler om å finne en inngang til dem, og det er dette vi skal utforske i denne klassen. Gjennom en blanding av somatiske øvelser, QiGong, improvisasjon og friskriving kan vi åpne luker i oss selv som kan være kilder til bevegelse og innsikt.

Veslemøy M Frengstad er en dansekunstner fra Trondheim. Hun har en BA i dans fra Universitetet i Stavanger (2020), er utdannet Breath Coach (2022) og studerte skrivekunst på Nansenskolen (22/23). Veslemøys kunstneriske praksis inkluderer bevegelse, lyd, kreativ skriving og tegning.

Loan har danset 5Rytmer siden 1998 og studert sammen med Alain Allard / Moves into Consciousness, Yaacov Darling Khan / Movement Medicine og Hege Gabrielsen / 5Rytmer Oslo. Våren 2016 fullførte hun sin 5Rytmer Waves lærerutdannelse under veiledning av Jonathan Horan og hovedlærere tilknyttet 5Rhythms Global.

“Min praxis har spesielt fokus på å benytte dynamikk, rytme og ulike kvaliteter fra forskjellige teknikker for å gi dansen og danseren et språklig uttrykksform. Vi vil gjøre improvisasjonsøvelser fokusert på å utvikle vårt eget bevegelsesmønster, spesielt med tanke på bevegelseskvaliteter og dynamikk. Øvelsene vil fokusere på tilstedeværelse i egen kropp, samt en bevisstgjøring rundt hvor motivasjonen for bevegelsen kommer fra. Gjennom tekniske øvelser, improvisasjon og koreografi på tvers av sjangre og teknikker, ønsker klassen å gi verktøy for å utvikle seg som en dynamisk og variert danser med et individuelt formspråk. Målet er at danseren selv evner å benytte seg av nye og gamle input, for å nå det store spekteret av bevegelse, og kan sømløst bevege seg imellom.”
BIO: Gunhild Løhre er dansekunstner bosatt i Trondheim, utdannet med en BA honors i utøvende dans fra LIPA (Liverpool). Etter fullført studie danset Løhre med det moderne dansekompaniet Compagnia Fransesca Selva i Siena, Italia i 2015. Hun jobber nå freelance som dansekunstner og koreograf med base i Trondheim. Nåværende prosjekter er som koreograf for “Yggdrasil” i tillegg til eget prosjekt, Solidarnosc/Solidaritet. Løhres nylige engasjementer inkluderer danser for “Elastic Bonding” ved Multiplié dansefestival, “Quantum Entanglement”, og den selv-produserte forestillingen “Min virkelighet”.
BIO: Karoline Ellingsen Wheeler er utdannet danser fra Universitetet i Stavanger og Spin Off Forstudium i Dans. Hun har aktivt søkt ulike bevegelsesmiljøer for å tilegne seg en allsidig praksis med floorwork som kjerne. Hun har vært utøvende danser for blant annet Inaki Azpillaga i Brussel, Kiani del Valle i København, reist med egen soloforestilling til Portugal og Russland. Driver sitt eget kompani; Kompani Morell med skuespiller Emilie Mordal, som fokuserer på scenekunst for barn og unge. Kompaniets andre produksjon ‘’FORELSKA!’’ skal på turné i DKS våren 21. Karoline jobber også som utøver for Cirka Teater, underviser freelance for blant annet Khio i Oslo og fast for Kulturskolen Trondheim.

Et samlende begrep for min praksis og navnet på min research er «Adaptable body», kort fortalt handler det om å tilegne seg en funksjonell, allsidig og tilpasningsdyktig kropp ved hjelp av ulike verktøy. Det er en praksis som er inspirert av ulike bevegelsesmiljøer som capoeira, parkour, BJJ, fighting monkey, playfight, catabatics osv. der jeg henter ut metoder som jeg ser på som bærekraftige og blander det med egen floorwork-praksis. Vi vil jobbe med funksjonell bevegelse som styrker og utfordrer nervesystemet, adaptive leker i par for å jobbe med både fokus, elastisitet, løsningsorientering og koordinasjon. Generelt utforskende arbeid med partner som handler om å bli kjent med egne og andre kroppers muligheter.

Det vil være en fysisk klasse men det krever ingen forkunnskaper som danser, kun et åpent sinn og en lyst til å teste og prøve ut nye måter å bevege seg på.

Andrea Winsnes
Min bevegelsespraksis bygger på lek og improvisasjon, alene og i kontaktarbeid. I løpet av tre praxis-klasser vil jeg dele mine favorittmetoder og strukturer for denne typen leken improvisasjon. Grunnlaget vil være å først jobbe spesifikt med kontaktarbeid. Deretter vil vi jobbe med noen gruppe-strukturer som handler om å lytte, gi og ta plass. Til slutt vil vi sette noe materiale basert på metodene vi har jobbet med. Det blir tre klasser med lek, utforsking, mye bevegelse og deilig musikk.

BIO: Andrea Winsnes er utdannet samtidsdanser, og har nylig flyttet tilbake til Trondheim etter syv år i Oslo. Hun har jobbet som utøvende danser, dansepedagog og skaper egne danseprosjekter. Andrea er spesielt interessert i kontaktarbeid og gruppedynamikker, og utforsker ofte dette i eget koreografisk arbeid/prakisis. I egen praksis er hun opptatt av relasjon mellom musikk og bevegelse, og kontrasten mellom stillhet og bevegelse.
BIO: Nina Wollny studied modern and contemporary dance at the Rotterdam Dance Academy, Codarts, in the Netherlands. After her graduation in 2002 she joined the company anoukvandijkdc and has worked there as dancer, rehearsal director and artistic assistant for more than 10 years. She performed in almost all of Anouk van Dijk’s work during that time, including the collaborations with director and playwright Falk Richter and Anouk van Dijk’s first work as director of Chunky Move in Melbourne, Australia. When she was 15 she started to teach dance, first mainly Ballet and discovered how much she enjoys teaching, sharing dance and performing alike. Since 2004 she is a passionate teacher of the Countertechnique and is regularly teaching at dance academies, companies and studios for professional dancers around the world. Since 2012, Wollny is performing and collaborating regularly with German choreographer Jenny Beyer at Kampnagel in Hamburg, Germany. Since 2016 working with Mia Habib Productions , most recently she is part of the piece "How to die -Inopiné”

Bodies together in transition
" Since I was a child I have always been fascinated by learning about how the human body works and how the different parts collaborate. When I started dancing and throughout my career as a dancer and teacher it has become more and more clear that it seems to have such a strong and sometimes even magical impact on our movement, presence, perception and therefor influences and enriches the way we dance.
Each day the class will be based on one topic related to how the human body works from a small simple detail to bigger connections within the organism. Each topic will be explored by looking at visual material, free and guided physical exploration and simple repetitive exercises. In the end we will have the option for an open session where we combine the different information and material we explored or gradually accumulate the material to build an energetic movement phrase, that plays with all levels of space, speed, flow and the forces that move us. The class is build to be open for all kinds of movers and gives space for everyone to join and still follow their own wishes and needs. Since I have done a lot of online dancing and teaching during the last year which has reminded me again of how important it is to really connect to the space you are in, we will also focus on this during the in person classes. Rediscovering the obvious like it is something new. Enjoying the value of being local and at the same time connecting to the world in a small way or to the entire Universe depending on where we want to take it that day. Looking forward to start the day together and dance with you."

BIO: Tomas "Hi-Lo" Vikeland
Tomas har alltid vært glad i musikk og bevegelse, men det var først da han oppdaget dansemiljøet i Trondheim at han fant tilhørigheten i street dance. Hans nysgjerrighet på det sosiale, kulturen og nye måter å tolke musikk og bevege seg gjorde at han raskt begynte å reise ut for å lære seg mer.
I dag er Tomas en aktiv utøver innen hip hop, popping, locking og house og har siden 2009 undervist disse dansestilene. Han sørger for å gi nøyaktig og riktig informasjon om dansen og kulturene den oppsto i. Han har som mål å inspirere unge og gamle til å danse mer, og ønsker å gjøre sine elever til selvstendige dansere, med kunnskapen og verktøyene de trenger for å utvikle seg videre etter klassene.
Han verdsetter mangfoldighet og setter gjensidig respekt mellom elever, lærere og dansere høyt. Han har øye for detaljer og kommer med relevant og konstruktiv kritikk i tråd med dansestilen som øves. Hans danseklasser består som regel av varierte øvelser, oppgaver og leker for å gi elevene en bred forståelse av dansen, det sosiale og kulturen mens de samtidig kan ha det gøy.

Kurset vektlegger det å lytte til musikken, samhandling med andre og improvisasjon. Disse verktøyene vil gi deltakerne forståelse for det som utgjør kjernen av house som dansestil.
Tomas har som mål å lære sine deltakere hvordan å bli selvstendige, undersøkende og kreative dansere. Dette reflekteres i hans undervisningsstil som inneholder en god blanding av undersøkende spørsmål, med både praktisk og teoretisk bakgrunn.

BIO: Anna Thu Schmidt is a Trondheim-based dance artist who focuses on site-specific performances, improvisation, interdisciplinary projects and integrated dance. Anna holds a BA in Dance in Education from ArtEZ (Netherlands) and an MA in Dance Studies from NTNU. Her work is often inspired by other cultures, as well as the connection and communication between humans and nature. Her interest in dance's relationship with other art forms has led to international collaborations and research into the interaction between dance and installation art. Anna works as a dance artist and producer in the dance companies Danselaboratoriet and Danseteateret, leads ImproDans Trondheim and Samtidsdans for Voksne in Trondheim and teaches yoga at Zenit. "My practice combines contemporary dance with dance improvisation and contact improvisation that provides a playful approach to choreographic processes. I am particularly interested in the individual movement language of each participant and the relationship between the bodies and the space. This will be explored by examining different movement qualities within improvisation and composition tasks. Through movement meditation, we create body awareness, get to know our own movement patterns and connect to ourselves and the space around us. The class includes improvisation tasks which will then be transformed by the participants and serve as a base for a movement dialogue with each other.”

PRAXIS with Ingeborg Dugstad Sanders
RELEASE-BASED TECHNIQUE
Ingeborg will share her work with release-based technique with a focus on floor work, functional movement and bodywork (physical touch). The material is inspired by Bartenieff Fundamentals and Developmental Patterns, and focuses on effective and articulated utilization of gravity and the structure of the skeleton. We will work with simple exercises on the floor both with and without a partner, and take this into slightly more complex combinations and improvisations where we apply the various principles. We will also play with how the connections in the body and the contact with the floor can create a safer entrance to more challenging tasks such as handstands and more acrobatic contact work.

Bio: Ingeborg Sanders is a dance artist based in Trondheim. Her education consists of a BA (Hons) Dance Theater from Laban Center in London, PPU from KHiO in Oslo and CMA from LIMS in New York. Ingeborg is employed as curating producer and production manager at DansiT - choreographic centre as well as artistic director of the Danselaboratoriet, and runs Rabalderdans - creative dance for preschool children. As a choreographer and performer she has been a part of several constellations like Arnfinn´s, YODOK IX and VIB, and has worked with companies/choreographers like Terje Tjøme Mossige, Rhode/Aass productions, Barbro Djupvik, Cirka Teater, Inclusive Dance Company, Abalino Dance Theater and Landing. As a teacher, she has been employed at Trøndertun, Sunnhordland Folk High School, Spin Off evening school, and Kvinnherad- and Stjørdal Culture School.
Bio: Sanni Parkkinen is experienced yoga teacher (E-RYT 500) and breathing coach. In her work, Sanni focuses on nervous system health, breath and respecting the wisdom of the body. During the past few years she has deepened her understanding of the human system by diving into somatic work and different mind-body practices. She is educating new breathing coaches in Trondheim and running online breathing courses in Finland, through which shei has coached hundreds of people to free and functionalize their breathing. Her approach to breathing is multidisciplinary, drawing inspiration from various modalities: Buteyko Method, Integrative Breathing Therapy, Breathwork, Wim Hof, Yoga, Taoism, Somatic Experiencing, Feldenkrais and trauma therapy (among others). Sanni is also lecturing in companies and giving speeches to various audiences. In addition, she studies psychology at NTNU and is especially interested in neuroscience, mind-body connection and body's natural healing processes. Her big passion is to explore the convergences of latest research and ancient wisdom.

BREATHWORK
The most important thing you do every single day is…. BREATHE.
Breathing of all things has the greatest impact on your health. It has the power to change the state of your nervous system. It is capable of charging you with energy, alleviating stress, anxiousness and fear as well as shifting your perspective on things. Even chronic pain can be treated with breathwork.
Breathing is also the most basic movement. All other movements build on breathing. Breathing is the foundation for more complex movement patterns. Functional movement requires functional breathing, and functional breathing leads to movement patterns that are aligned, effortless and efficient. In case there are blockages in breathing, there most likely will be blockages in movement as well as in the inner flow of emotions, thoughts and inspiration.
In the Praxis classes, Sanni leads you through explorations on breathing and movement, synchrony and asynchrony. Classes consist of breath awareness, movement and breathing practices focusing on freeing and functionalizing the breath. Each session includes also a breathwork session that works as a great tool for diving deeper into the body's wisdom, finding and releasing emotional blockages and tapping into one’s creative force.

BUTOH
"If your mind doesn't remember your first dance, your flesh does."
As a performer, I use Butoh as a tool to ground myself in the present, open my senses, free and renew my imagination, explore and develop a new bodytelling language. For me, Butoh is a true bridge between dance and theater. It gives the possibility to connect deeply to your inner self; to dance with your viscera, bones and cells. It is a philosophy, a spiritual process that gives access to a new field of narration. After an introduction on what Butoh is (if it is possible to define it ;), we will approach different techniques such as embodiment, image-guided improvisation, neutral walk or butoh-fu. We will also be inspired by surrealist artists. Come explore your own dance!

Bio: Céline Meillaud is a French performer and butoh-inspired dancer. She graduated from a drama school based on Jacques Lecoq technique (physical theater, mime, mask, commedia dell'arte, clown, buffoon). In 2014, she discovered Butoh and followed several workshops across Europe. In 2017, she traveled to Japan to explore the roots of butoh before moving to Norway. Today she has an artistic base in Trondheim where she lives and works as a dance performer for different companies: Cirka Teater, Panter Tanter and Crotonicx.
Bio: Scenekunstner Eline Hallem, er utdannet ved École Jacques Lecoq og har siden jobbet med fysisk teater og bevegelse i Norge og internasjonalt. Hun har en allsidig bakgrunn fra teaterformer med base i bevegelse, inkludert maskespill, figurteater, klassisk teater, danseteater, mime og klovn. Hun jobber bl.a. med Flying Seagulls Norge, som bruker sirkus, komedie og interaktivt teater i arbeid med barn i krise, i Norge og internasjonalt. I 2019 fikk hun Verdal Kommunes Talentstipend og hun har blitt rost for sin rolletolkning i 'Perfect' av kritikere som The Guardian.

MOVEMENT IN THEATRE
Eline Hallem offers three workshops on how you can apply your movement experience in various different theatre forms. With a background in Lecoq method and contemporary dance, Hallem works within several forms of physical theatre, including mime, clown, puppetry, slapstick, masks, drag and interactive theatre. In this workshop, she focuses on how each individual can use their specific skills and background to master a variety of theatre genres.

En søken etter ur-bevegelse
Min praksis orienterer seg rundt en søken og leting etter det primale. Kropp og psyke kobles sammen med holdepunkt i det sansemotoriske systemet og hvordan det kan påvirkes og formes med bruk av fantasien som bindeledd. Dette blir en utforskning i å gjenoppdage de dyriske instinkter og andre aspekter ved mennesket i kontakt med de naturlige elementer. Billedbruk, kroppslige spenninger, høy intensitet og sensitiv lytting. Et blikk både rettet inn mot det indre og ut mot de ulike lag av synlighet og usynlighet rundt seg.
Bio: A Movement Based Artist
Dancer, choreographer, teaching artist. Also exploring mediums of expression like film, visual arts and music. His dance is influenced by spiritual, creative and somatic practices. And a deep interest in the bodily emotional language and communal rituals and the joyous energy of social, urban and folk
dances.
Bio: Italian Alessandra Felli holds a PhD in 'Digital technologies' and a master's degree in 'Performance analysis' from the Faculty of Humanities and Arts of the Sapienza University of Rome. Felli has been studying Michael Chekhov's acting technique since 2014. Today she participates in the international 'Michael Chekhov Training Program', under the Michael Chekhov Europe Association. Felli worked for 'Teatro Stabile di Napoli', one of the National Theaters in Italy, and she has directed several classical and modern theater productions. Since 2029 she is the Artistic Leader of the performing art company Bizarra Produskjoner. In Norway she has directed productions such as "Hvor har jeg vert i hele mitt liv" (Stjørdal), "Ms. Scrooge" (Lager11) og "Her er vi" (Lager11), "Bare Dyr" (Verkstedhallen). Currently, she works on the First Season of the Soap Opera Festival that will open in Trondheim in 2023.

Alessandra Felli
The Michael Chekhov Technique is an imaginative approach to experiencing the truth of the moment. It is a technique that seeks a connection between making an outer physical action and sensing how this movement evokes an inner response. All physical exercises are done with the intention of awakening the body in order to become a sponge finely tuned to respond to psychological impulses. Thus the performer aims at reaching a complete balance and harmony between the body and the thoughts, emotions and desires. The classes will experience the constant play between these two levels.

Seela Wanvik
Kässärikaveripyrtsi -det finske ordet kombinerer ulike sirkusdisipliner som jeg har jobbet med både som utøvende artist og lærer av. Ved hjelp av teknikk, lek og improvisasjon skal vi teste og øve oss på balansering på hender i ulike måter. Vi kombinerer dette med partner akrobatikk-teknikker og vipps så er vi inne på mange rare posisjoner og bevegelser. Vi skal bygge pyramider og finne ut hvordan vi flytter oss fra den ene pyramiden til den neste. Sånn får vi øvd oss på tillit, styrke, balanse, og samarbeidsevner.
Bio: Seela Wanvik - (finsk, utdannet i Finland og Sverige, bosatt i Norge) begynte sin karriere i pyramidenummer på Sorin Sirkus i Tammerfors, Finland. Hun har 30 års erfaring fra sirkusfaget og er utdannet ved sirkuslærerhøgskolen ved Kunstakademiet i Turku og på Cirkuspiloterna ved Cirkus Cirkör i Stockholm. Som sirkusartist har Seela arbeidet med å utforske mange forskjellige sirkusteknikker, og hennes spesialområder er rokkering, parakrobatikk og pyramider. Seela jobber i dag som sirkuslærer ved Trondheim kommunale kulturskole og er med i en skandinavisk akrobatikkforestilling "Det får bära eller brista".
